Hatches

You can use hatches on shapes in your project to fill them with a uniform pattern that is defined by the hatch style. Refer to Types of Hatch Styles. When you create a hatch, the hatch shapes show in the Project pane under the root Shapes node with the other shapes that you add. Refer to Shapes and Entities.

Hatch shapes are almost the same as other shapes, but they have these differences.

• Hatches have different properties and settings than other types of shapes.

  • Hatch Style is the hatch style from your catalog that is used to generate the contents of the hatch.

  • Base Point is the base or reference point through which the hatch lines pass or would pass.

• When you import a DXF or DWG file that has hatches, each hatch is exploded and the shapes that result are added to your project. If a hatch has more than one pattern definition, only the first pattern definition is used.
• You cannot combine hatch shapes with connected shapes. Refer to Combine Shapes.
• If you divide a hatch into shapes, you cannot edit it as a hatch. Refer to Explode Shapes.
• Lead moves are applied to each shape that is part of the hatch. Refer to Lead Moves.
• Outputs are applied to each shape that is part of the hatch. Refer to Add Outputs.
